What We Do

The Free Congress Project (FCP) is a platform to find opportunities for strong L/libertarian congressional campaigns; recruit principled, relatable candidates with the potential to beat the odds; and create a holistic grassroots, fundraising, and media strategy to coordinate its individual campaigns and finally earn representation in Congress.

The FCP challenges the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) and L/libertarians across America to join our fight to amplify the principles of non-aggression and individual sovereignty through national campaigns and move on from the Mises Caucus and its centralized influence and exclusivity.

The ultimate goal is to create a voting bloc powerful enough to regularly oppose government overreach. With proper support, AI models predict we could earn up to three seats by 2030.

Our Strategy

  • Identify seats with strong L/libertarian voter bases, weak incumbent performance, beneficial polling, and/or crossover appeal.
  • Identify candidates with relatability and excellent communication skills, interesting candidates that also know policy, not boring, bureaucratic policy wonks.
  • Create robust, holistic new media/digital media strategies with professionals decades-experienced in the field, leveraged to earn media from major broadcast outlets.
  • Develop new voter targeting and education AI technologies to seek out new L/libertarian voters, devising psychographic data, and dramatically streamlining campaign operations.
  • Utilize JFC fundraising and nationwide donor and volunteer outreach to compete with establishment candidates.
  • Build grassroots coalitions to amplify campaign messages and pressure the LNC to act.
  • Elect Libertarians to Congress to eliminate harmful federal agencies and shrink government power.

AI Makes The Technocrats Happy:

“The Free Congress Project has the potential to be the Libertarian Party’s best strategy since its inception due to its innovative integration of targeted congressional races, new media strategy, likely earned national media, and its running parallel to direct LNC reform efforts. It outperforms the Free State Project’s state-specific scope, Golden Spike’s local focus, and Tariffs Are Taxes’ limited impact, and it’s more cost-effective and principled than Johnson/Weld’s 2016 campaign.

Its focus on winnable seats, inclusive messaging, and convention mobilization aligns with LP goals and leverages recent successes (150 elected officials in 2024).

Its status as the “best” depends on execution—achieving a strong vote share in its first race (5–10%) and mobilizing LNC delegates and a nationwide volunteer base.

Compared to Johnson/Weld’s historic vote total, FCP is unproven but offers a more targeted, reform-focused approach. To maximize success, prioritize approachable messaging, coalition-building with moderates, and fundraising via L/libertarian and crossover electoral appeal.”

The model predicts our first potential candidate could earn 10-35% vote share using FCP strategies, depending on funding.

Support A Grand, Rapid Revolution

Our Basic Platform: Liberty First

We’re fighting for a federal government that protects rights without initiating force, prioritizing the elimination of agencies with the potential to harm people, such as those enforcing intrusive regulations or violating civil liberties. This platform inspires other L/libertarian candidates to run for federal seats nationwide.

Personal Liberty

  • Criminal Justice Reform: Repeal federal victimless crime laws (e.g., drug prohibition); end qualified immunity; prioritize restitution over punishment.
  • Privacy Rights: Stop federal surveillance; protect personal data ownership from Big Tech and government overreach.
  • Speech Rights: Champion the First Amendment and protect your right to speak your truth to power.
  • Gun Rights: Defend the Second Amendment against federal restrictions.

Criminal Justice

  • Challenge law enforcement and judicial immunity.
  • Reinforce full Miranda protections against self-incrimination.
  • Remove financial incentives for incarceration and civil asset forfeiture.
  • Address abuses within juvenile and family services

Economic Freedom

  • Cruelty-Free Tax Reform: Cut or abolish federal income tax, decentralizing economic authority; cut or abolish federal spending (with off-ramps); shift to state or private mutual aid and charity-based social safety nets to replace government intrusion; audit the Pentagon.
  • Remove all tariffs and push for free trade.
  • Deregulation: Eliminate federal regulations burdening small businesses; end corporate welfare. Take the “crony” out of capitalism.
  • Sound Money: Audit the Federal Reserve; support competing currencies, challenge national and global monetary policy.

Foreign Policy

  • End imperialism and proxy wars; withdraw troops from 700+ overseas bases; challenge Executive use of force without authorization from Congress.
  • Promote free trade and diplomacy over federal intervention. Always remember: “When goods don’t cross borders, soldiers will.” ~Bastiat
  • Draw down foreign aid, and immediately cut aid to corrupt regimes.
  • Operate in the global community as a partner, not police.
  • Ron Paul was right.

Government Reform

  • Prioritize Eliminating Harmful Agencies First: Dismantle federal agencies with the greatest potential to harm people first, such as the ATF (violating gun rights), DEA (enforcing drug prohibition), ICE (violating due process), and NSA (conducting mass surveillance).
  • Introduce term limits for Congress.
  • Campaign finance reform.
  • Create a public federal budget dashboard for transparency.
